If a woman who is divorced hooks up with a new boyfriend that has...?

...acquired all the material possessions that the husband had/was striving towards, homes, financial independence, company owner, freedom to retire on company income, traveling, recognition in the industry for growing business, freedom of choices for time and many details that are extremely similar between the ex and the boyfriend - what does this say about the ex, the situation - keeping in mind the woman believes in selective choice of male companionship? The ex refuses to allow the ex-husband even close to the new boyfriend. She refuses to even talk to the ex-husband about issues with child, bars the ex-husband from her life completely, won't let the ex near her home even though he was welcomed there daily before the boyfriend for almost 3 years, ex-wife hid the relationship with the BF for months before it became public. She tries for custody twice - failed - within two months time - and then BF comes out of the woodwork.

If a woman who is divorced hooks up with a new boyfriend that has...?
It seems that the ex-wife knows what looks good on paper (she seems a bit superficial). It also seems that the ex-wife has some growing up to do in regard to this new relationship. Unfortunately for the child, he is caught in the middle. My suggestion would be to keep an open line of communication with the child. Talk to the ex-wife and tell her your concerns regarding the new boyfriend and if she doesn't listen, at least it is out there and she knows how you feel. Also, eventually the ex-husband and the new boyfriend will have to meet, some place at some time. It's sad that the ex-wife doesn't understand the dynamics of starting a new relationship and the heartache it can cause the child (who is a innocent bystander). She should have worked harder to ease the boyfriend into the child's life, not work so hard to keep the ex and boyfriend apart. Her priorities suck!
