Pinching the bard down with pliers will suffice in some places..other places it isn't legal to do so. It is legal in those "other places" to file the barb off the hook. It only takes a few seconds with a good mill bastard-file and a pair of vise grips. If that won't work for you,http://gobarbless.com/ may have just what you need.

Does it seem like there are more and more hooks on bra straps these days? Why do you need 3 to 5 hooks?

they are called spade end hooks ,you make a loop and hold the hook against the loop then with the loose end you wrap the loose end around the hook and line about ten times and then put the loose end through tho loop and pull the main line tight so it traps the loose end its a bit fiddly until you get it right but works very well you can also buy a hook tier but i prefer to do it by hand. you can buy these hooks in England in most tackle stores. hope this helps

A good friend of mine fishes a lot, and has bragged about his fish hook technique -- and rather proudly proclaims himself to be a "Master Baiter." What I can't understand is why he then snickers a lot.

Is there a program that hooks you up with elderly people that would like someone to "adopt" them?
I know we adopted an elderly woman out in North Carolina many years back when I was a kid, but now that I have my own kids and live in Texas, I'm trying to find a website or program that does this sort of thing. I think it was ALOT of fun to have an adopted grandparent and I can see how it would make a person extremely happy.

You should call the local nursing home or eldercare and see if they have a list. I am sure there are people there that need a "family." :) Little things can really make their day! Kudos to you for being willing to do this! :)
Reply:Here in Ky We have a foster grand parent program. I have worked with the elderly for years and now that I'm retired, I try to voluteer as much as my health will allow. I agree that checking with retirement homes is a good place to start, also I found a super gent through my Dr, he asked if I was interested,but I think he knew I needed it, as much as "our papa" did. bless you

Ask neighbors, church members or a local diner, coffee shop for the names of single or lone seniors. I managed a donut/coffee shop years and the seniors all helped me finish raising my last child. We had surrogate Mothers out the yazoo. I think they got us much out of helping us as we benefited by having them. Sadly it has become time to say goodbye to more of them every year. But what a priviledge it is to have known them.

I believe your cable doesn't go to the cruise control, but into the back of the instrument cluster behind your dashboard. It is a good idea to pour a little oil into the end of the cable and let it hang for a little while to get oil from one end to the other. Those cables are noisey if you don't. Good luck.
Reply:If just buying the cable, they usually have a cutting tool and a new tip to be installed (comes with the new cable) after the new cable is matched to the broken cable or if you know the correct length, a cable already fitted can be purchased. Don't forget to re oil the new cable.

I have a 79 delta 88 and I just got a replacement speedometer cable the cable hooks up to the Cruise control?
I believe your cable doesn't go to the cruise control, but into the back of the instrument cluster behind your dashboard. It is a good idea to pour a little oil into the end of the cable and let it hang for a little while to get oil from one end to the other. Those cables are noisey if you don't. Good luck.
Reply:If just buying the cable, they usually have a cutting tool and a new tip to be installed (comes with the new cable) after the new cable is matched to the broken cable or if you know the correct length, a cable already fitted can be purchased. Don't forget to re oil the new cable.

not at all 4 is way smaller than 4/0 the high number the smaller the hook and the smaller numbers are bigger in size and when you get to /0 sizes a 1/0 is smaller than a 2/0 which is smaller then a 3/0 which is smaller than a 4/0 and so on up to around 10/0. Hook sizes are confusing but the more time you spend with them the more you'll learn. I to took time to get used to all the different sizes. Best of luck to you and your fishing travels.

I have two sons (ages:2-3) with a woman I recently divorced. And no matter how many times I say I'm through, It never sticks. I've tried meeting other women but have not been successful knowing that I am the reason for this. Thats bull i have removed the starter on my 93 1500 several times. it is hard to do but if i can do it anyone can. the starter is on the passenger side of the engine, please please don't be dumb enough to leave the battery hooked up while you do this or any maintance work at that. with the battery unplugged theres no chance of getting shocked. replacing the wire is where you lose me bc if your starter isn't working i highly doubt its bc of that wire if it is the wire then you really do need to take it to a shop

The wireing is part of a harness and will need someone familiar with rewireing. The sparks alone can hurt you.

you need a chiltons manual for a 73 monte carlo and the hoses on the 84 should be basically the same hook-ups from the engine. The library should have this manual.

He doesn't want any counseling. He works early in AM -5AM, then he will wake up at 1:30am and gets on computer until time to work. When he's home, of course, he's tired. He will nap and no energy in the daytime. That's our lives for a few months. He still takes good care of the kids but it's heart breaking to me. I don't want my kids grow up in a single parent family, what should I do? HELP!!!!!!

I know that a single parent family is not the best enviroment either but mommy and daddy are who the kids look to and structure their lives around into adulthood. I'm sorry to be so grim on this subject but it seems like he needs some help but just will not admit he has a problem.

Porn is also an addiction and is harder to quit that than smoking.
Another thing is, if he's not willing to try to work this out with you then it seems like he needs to move on and do other things. Other things that may not be healthy for the kids to know about either. Hmmm!!!! That's a tough one. I realize, of course, you have tried Sears. And I bet that they have told you that model was discontinued or that these hooks are not offered separately.
I would try an RV store/Dealership. The reason is that Sears contracts out to different manufactures for it's products. I would almost bet that some Roof Top Carrier Brand/Company is exactly like the X-Cargo and you would be able to get your hooks from them.

Bass tend to react and strike slower when the water is cold or a cold front has gone through. If its raining and there's a low pressure around or a warm front is going through or there's a full moon, work it real fast. I would usually rig these texas rigged with a gamagatsu offset hook. These are really sharp and you wont lose much with these.
Yum dingers/senkos - If you want a real good lure, invest in a couple bags of Yum Dingers or yamamoto senkos. They are by far the greatest lure I have ever used. They are only $4-$5 for 10 or so, not really that expensive. I would also rig these texas rigged with a gamagatsu offset hook
I would also have 2 spinnerbaits and a buzzbait on hand. 1 red spinnerbait and 1 white. For the buzzbait get a black one. If you have these on hand i can garentee you'll catch some nice large mouth bass.

For Texas rigging or Carolina rigging you will be using 3/0, 4/0, 5/0 offset and wide gap hooks. All these sizes are good for any species of bass. I caught bass as small as 5 inches on 4/0 hooks with 7" worms so don't think little bass won't hit big baits.

Reply:If fishing for smallmouths try a 1/4oz jig head inside a tube bait to mimick crawfish I like a mellon pepper bass pro tender tube. For largemouth you can use a senko in black with blue flake or green pumkin with a 2/0 or 3/0 hook just hook it in the middle of the worm and cast out and let sink down they fall about a foot a second, depending on the wind. Something new to try is a stand up jig head with a 4 to 6 inch worm like a chompers drop shot or a zoom trick worm and just cast out and bring back in really slow in green pumkin or watermellon with red flake they will work on boot species of bass but you have to have alot of patients and use light line like 8lb. ( gamma line I think is the best) I like the 1/8 oz. jig for that but then again if it's windy try a 1/4oz. You can get all of the stuff you need at ***** sporting goods or Bass Pro. or a large sporting goods store like that. Good luck

IMO, these are the most fun as they produce dramatic strikes.
Reply:Hoola poppers or any bright bug eye for lures. Your average worm on a hook and bobber gets you there also. I use minnie marshmallows also and that will work ,strangely enough.
Reply:To begin with you must consider the type of equipment you are using. Most of the time worm hooks for bass range from 2/0 - 5/0 size. But you must consider what size line you are using. If you look closely at a 2/0 hook and then a 5/0 hook you will see that not only are they different sizes but they are made out of different guage wire. Naturally it is going to be harder to accomplish a good hook set with a 5/0 hook because it is going to be harder to penetrate a bass' lip with the bigger guage wire. So you are going to need to use a rod and reel with a heavier line so it will not break on your hookset. Also you need to consider that a smaller size hook will flex on your hookset (and while you are fighting a fish). I am a strong believer in using the smallest hook possible but I also have heavier line on the poles that I worm fish with. On the poles that I use a finesse bait with (like a bass assassin or a fluke) I will use a smaller hook.........unless I want the hook to weigh the lure down a bit then I will go up a size or two. All of this is just from my personal experience but one thing that I think that everyone will agree with me on is this......do not scrimp on the quality of hooks you buy. I use Owners or Gamakatsus.......they are expensive but they will get the job done. BTW, because of the way that the hook points are designed these two brands cannot be resharpened but at about 50-75 cents apiece I guess you can call it cheap insurance.

Reply:If fishing for smallmouths try a 1/4oz jig head inside a tube bait to mimick crawfish I like a mellon pepper bass pro tender tube. For largemouth you can use a senko in black with blue flake or green pumkin with a 2/0 or 3/0 hook just hook it in the middle of the worm and cast out and let sink down they fall about a foot a second, depending on the wind. Something new to try is a stand up jig head with a 4 to 6 inch worm like a chompers drop shot or a zoom trick worm and just cast out and bring back in really slow in green pumkin or watermellon with red flake they will work on boot species of bass but you have to have alot of patients and use light line like 8lb. ( gamma line I think is the best) I like the 1/8 oz. jig for that but then again if it's windy try a 1/4oz. You can get all of the stuff you need at ***** sporting goods or Bass Pro. or a large sporting goods store like that. Good luck
Reply:Hula popper as suggested are good so too are other such surface baits. Jitterbugs %26amp; spinner buzz baits.

Reply:Hoola poppers or any bright bug eye for lures. Your average worm on a hook and bobber gets you there also. I use minnie marshmallows also and that will work ,strangely enough.
Reply:To begin with you must consider the type of equipment you are using. Most of the time worm hooks for bass range from 2/0 - 5/0 size. But you must consider what size line you are using. If you look closely at a 2/0 hook and then a 5/0 hook you will see that not only are they different sizes but they are made out of different guage wire. Naturally it is going to be harder to accomplish a good hook set with a 5/0 hook because it is going to be harder to penetrate a bass' lip with the bigger guage wire. So you are going to need to use a rod and reel with a heavier line so it will not break on your hookset. Also you need to consider that a smaller size hook will flex on your hookset (and while you are fighting a fish). I am a strong believer in using the smallest hook possible but I also have heavier line on the poles that I worm fish with. On the poles that I use a finesse bait with (like a bass assassin or a fluke) I will use a smaller hook.........unless I want the hook to weigh the lure down a bit then I will go up a size or two. All of this is just from my personal experience but one thing that I think that everyone will agree with me on is this......do not scrimp on the quality of hooks you buy. I use Owners or Gamakatsus.......they are expensive but they will get the job done. BTW, because of the way that the hook points are designed these two brands cannot be resharpened but at about 50-75 cents apiece I guess you can call it cheap insurance.
Reply:choosing the right hook depends on which bait your using. almost any plastic worm can be fished on size 1/0-5/0 with the larger sizes better for bigger worms. Use any soft plastic, jig ,crankbait,spinnerbait ,topwater for bass fishing but you should use them under the right conditions.
all these can catch any freshwater bass species.

Can I install coat hooks on drywall without using a stud?
The screw with expansion toggle will work, but only for limited weight bearing. First time someone hangs not only a coat but pulls down on the hook you attach to the toggle molly, you could get a pull through. One method is to expand the area meant to hold the hooks.
This means buying an already routed board, whatever dimension you want (24", 36" 1X4 or so), finish it if not already finished, and mount it using three toggles equidistant, one on each end and one in middle. This will disperse the weight and use more of the drywall for support.
You can even mount the board, then use screw hooks into the board for your hangerss. The screw hooks then anchor to wood instead of drywall, while the wood spreads the weight bearing.

I'm a big fan of the new circle hooks that most companies now make as they really do make a big difference in whether or not the fish will be gut hooked. These hooks catch the fish on the way OUT of the mouth and rarely hook the fish below the mouth which allows you to release them with minimal damage to them.

Has anyone tried "Hercules Hooks"? What are your comments on them?
a good product almost as good as sky hooks,these have 000point tolerance, and are great but you need to ask for them at the diy check out, as the are not on the open shelves.
Has anyone tried "Hercules Hooks"? What are your comments on them?
Yes I have. I used them plus Large screws to hang a 50lb cabinet. It is as solid as a rock. i have also used them to hang a shelf but it didn't work so well. The shelf brackets were not in the studs.
Reply:They work...they are awesome. They are holding up two 100 lb. swords in the entryway.
