I'm a big fan of the new circle hooks that most companies now make as they really do make a big difference in whether or not the fish will be gut hooked. These hooks catch the fish on the way OUT of the mouth and rarely hook the fish below the mouth which allows you to release them with minimal damage to them.
What are the best hooks for fishing the spring trouts?
Here's what's important to remember trout are very , very smart they will not bite if they see exposed hook and the bait looks unatural. Also there mouth is very small. Thus it's imperative you use small hooks.
Trouty will also chase jighead/curly tail combos

Reply:The best bait that i use for trout would be a roster tail. I have caught alot of trout with this. Definitly the best hook.
