How do I make my own leader with hook and line like eagle claw hooks?
This shows you step by step how to snell a hook just like eagle claw does:

Reply:I'm assuming that you are looking for a way of rigging your hooks like the pre-rigged hooks that eagle claw sells at most super stores. There are two knots that you will need to know. The first is known as the snell knot. This is the knot you will be using to tie your hook to your line. Leave the line long enough so you can measure out how long you want your leader line and then in the end tie a surgeons end loop. It's an easy knot to tie and creates that little loop that is at the end of the leader. Be sure to trim off any excess line so your knots are clean!
Reply:Use a shank knot to attach the leader to the hook. Research fishing knots in fishing and hunting magazines. We did it for years as I was growing up. The knots are easy to tie and only take a few minutes to learn but it's impossible to describe in words.
