I want to attach hooks to steel beams. What is the best way.?

I would say if they are I beams there are small clamps that can be installed using a wrench or socket and ratchet-that would give you something to attach the hooks to

You didn't say what type of beams though, but a clamp is much easier than drilling through it to secure a hook and they will support weight

Lowes and HD carry beam clamps. Check the electrical dept. All you need to do is find the appropriate eye or hook to screw into the clamp. They will have those also.
Reply:plumbers and pipe fitters have clamps that hook onto the bottom lip of an i-beam. you may be able to hang your hook from one of these...go to a plumbing supply and tell them what you are trying to do...
Reply:can you go over the top and hang them like an upsidedown U shaped hanger?
Reply:There is not enough information here. How thick is the steel? Can you drill through the beam, and use a nut washer, and threaded hook? What is the hook holding, ounces, pounds, tons of weight? I am only assuming, this is in a home/apartment rather than heavy construction? Do you care if you glue it (Gorilla glue) and will not be able to get the hook off ever? Does it have to be neat? or is it in the garage for a bicycle? Please more info.
