Please don't hang plants from your gutter. A plant, just after watering can add too much weight and will pull the gutter from the roof rake. Adding the heavy pot to the weight of the water in the gutter after a rain, it is just not designed to hold that much weight.
I would suggest hanging plants from your overhang by using standard "J" hooks that screw into your rafter.
