What are some "hooks" that i can start my writer's autobiograhpy ?

Start off with something dramatic. People read the first paragraph of the first page to decide if they want to buy a book.


For example: "I was born during Katrina and floated down the river, only to be saved by Sean Pean."


or


"My father wanted a son so badly that he forced me to dress and act as his son until puberty. No one ever suspected that...."


or


"No one really believes the stories of nuns and priests, yet aren't all myths based on some fact? My story began in the belfry of the Motherhouse."

What are some "hooks" that i can start my writer's autobiograhpy ?
Start with something unusual or unique, either in your life or your parents or even grandparents. "As the rifle fire echoed through Dealey Plaza, my father ducked. But the gunfire was not aimed at him, fortunately, and so five years later, I was born...."


"Great grandfather established our family's habit of missing out on great opportunities when he told the Wright brothers that if man was meant to fly, we would have feathers. It was not until I was born that this unfortunate precedent was reversed, for I was fated to join John Glenn in his last hours on Earth..."
