What is a Cheap, Good, Home Microphone that hooks up to my comp?

Me and my friend are going to be laying down some tracks, they are going to be "joke" songs, so basically funny rap songs.





I need teh quality of the recording to be relatively good, I am hoping to post these on myspace, then eventually I'll get an expensive mic and room hopefully.





But anyways what is a good microphone for home use, perferably a usb mic. My price range is pretty small....from 15-50 bucks.

For recording (as opposed to live performance) a condenser mic is always going to give a better quality result than a dynamic, but the condenser requires a power input.


My recording guide shows how you can use a condenser with a battery, or you can use one of the new USB condenser mic's which I think would be ideal for what you want to do. I believe that the 'SAMSON CO1U' will be not far out of your price range approx $80 - shop around you never know what you could turn up...

Reply:you get what you pay for in mics ....As far as the recording is concerned the levels you record at are key and placement of the mic is also key to a decent recording .omnidirectional mic should work .

Reply:You can find computer microphones everywhere with an electronics department. Prices vary, but you also have to keep in mind that a microphone is nothing if you don't have a decent program to record sounds with. Default song recorder isn't going to do what you want.
