What casting material is the best for coat hooks?
Aluminum, Zinc or Brass if you want a metal casting. You can also mold it in plastic as long as you stick with a glass filled material to keep it strong. Plastic will be the cheapest option and you can get a variety of colors if thats of any value to you.

With metal castings, you have different options in the casting process. If the coat hooks are a low volume part, you will want to use "sand casting" where each part is molded in a sand mold using a wood pattern. If you plan to make thousands of coat hooks, then Die Casting is the way to go. Die casting is where you inject liquid metal into a steel mold in the same manner as plastic parts.
Reply:Zinc, since it can be spin cast, has a low temperature melting point, and is relatively cheap. And it will not rust.
