How can i keep from getting fish hooks when i use Marcel curling iron?

I always get those bend marks when i use a curling iron can anyone give me any tips on how to prevent that?

Hi, what you need to do is when you begin to roll your hair after you make the first complete turn of the iron, quickly click open and close the iron a few times while continuing to turn the curl up the shaft of the hair. When your ends are completely circled into the iron there will be no fish hooks. Also if you want lift in the root area you can put a comb between your scalp and the iron, give it a half bend at the scalp and rest it on your comb. If your hair is long you don't have to start to roll your hair at the ends but from mid shaft clicking open and closed till the ends are neatly tucked inside the barrel of the iron. Good luck!
