How to clean old saltwater lures (the hooks) with rust and white deposits?
soak in coca cola overnight, wire brush, done.no bad smell to the fish
Reply:Spray with W-D40,then scrub them with a tooth brush.

wash them in dish soap, rinse them well let them dry.Put them in the box.LETS GO FISHIN.
Reply:Try soaking just the hook part in "CLR" Calcium Lime Rust Remover. You can get it at just about any hardware store or Walmart.

Happy Fishin!!!
Reply:Try the CLR that's been suggested. If that don't work or if it's real heavy rust, don't bother trying to clean them. Just cut them off, buy some new hooks and split rings, and replace them outright.
Reply:Tarnex. Do not use soap, fish can smell it.
