How to install an exterior air unit that hooks on to an furnace?
You Should Leave it To The Pro"s.
Reply:the expense involved in buying the things you need to do the work yourself would be almost the same as having the HVAC guy do it.

and besides the installers cover the warranty that YOU WILL NOT GET if not done by someone licensed
Reply:i must fix 6 units every spring that weekend worriers attempt to do, leave it to the pro''''''''''''''''s its not worth it!!! U'll shell out money now and then!!! Use rec company...
Reply:Usually it's best to leave that to a HVAC professional (yeah, I know, they're gonna soak you on the price)--you're gonna need the refrigerant to load up the ac condenser and in my state, you have to have a HVAC license to buy both the condenser AND refrigerant.

Make sure the furnace is AC compatible, too. Good luck, wish we could buy with out HVAC certs!
Reply:best to let the pros do it, but just so you know it takes a couple of refridgerent lines going outside and a power line to power the unit. they usually sit on a concrete patio stones. the part that is inside is a upside down shaped "V" that goes above your heating unit in the furnace and get's sealed in there. how it works is the cooling "v" cools down and the fan blows the air past it and cools the house. the coolent then goes outside where the heat is exchanged outside and the coolent is sent back in to cool again
